Kanazawa Castle & Gyokusen Inmaru Garden

Taking a leisurely walk through Kanazawa Castle and its beautiful surroundings is truly a delightful experience.
The castle grounds remain open late, and during our visit, we were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic light show over the water in Gyokusen Inmaru Garden. This natural landscape showcases a multi-tiered garden with a cliff, waterfall, islands, and lovely bridges, located close to its own gate.
Our trip to Kanazawa was a bit too short, and we didn't get the chance to explore the castle interiors as much as we wanted during the day. Luckily, here is an interesting link that offers more details about the building's fascinating technical exhibits.
If you can, try to visit both during the day and in the evening. The castle has a completely different feel at each time—during the day, you can enjoy its graceful lines and impressive size (and maybe visit the 21st Century Museum), while at night, you'll sense the strength of its defences and the fierce history that shaped such an extraordinary structure.
