Little Bao Eatery

Hong Kong's Little Bao is a lunch counter that doubles as a dinner spot, a munchies paradise designed by Sean Dix.
A bao (short for baozi) is a soft, fluffy, pillowy steamed bun that originates from China. It's made with yeasted dough and filled with savory or sweet fillings, creating a delicious sandwich. The combination of the soft, airy texture of the plain bun and the crispy crunch of the filling is an irresistible match that is hard not to crave.
The bao at Little Bao is outstanding, and while we enjoyed it immensely, we tend to limit our intake of heavily fried foods.
Accompanying the main dishes were an array of delightful side dishes that tantalised the senses:
Brussels Sprouts are vibrantly roasted and tossed in a delectable blend of fish sauce, rich chili caramel, crunchy peanuts, zesty lime, and crunchy fried shallots. Each bite bursts with flavor, balancing savory, sweet, and spicy notes.
Sloppy Chan consists of braised shiitake tempeh served with velvety truffle mayo, sweet pickled daikon, and crisp fried shallots - did not photograph well.
Truffle Fries with Shiitake tempeh, truffle mayo, and pickled daikon. Looked like scrumptious heart-stoppers. We couldn't go that decadent—but that doesn't mean you shouldn't!
Sesame Caesar Salad, A refreshing twist on the classic, featuring crisp Indian lettuce coated in creamy sesame dressing, complemented by the delightful crunch of fried dace and a sprinkle of black bean panko.
Fish Tempura, featuring a great batter and perfectly fried, is drizzled with a tangy tamarind palm sugar glaze and served alongside a refreshing pickled lemongrass fennel salad
