Stockton Bar

Stockton turned out to be one of those hard-to-reach gems that make traveling worthwhile.  This classic English club bar, with a particularly dark ambiance, is situated at a high crossroads that isn't the easiest to find, but the search is well worth it.

The menu is extensive and serves as an homage to Lewis Carroll.  The dishes offered are delightful and offer a departure from the typical fare found in the rest of the city.

Stockton is what we envisioned Hong Kong to be in our literary imagination: a steadfast mark of English colonialism hidden behind a portal within a bustling Asian city-state.  Here it was—world-class cocktails enjoyed on Chesterfield sofas in the warm glow of the lighting, while outside, millions pulse to the rhythm of another world.
